Snow Days and Blogging
Well, I am going to try my hand at this blogging stuff. It has always peaked my interest, but I fear that I am not all that disciplined in this kind of stuff. I mean, it always sounds good to me on the surface, and I always think, “How hard can it really be?”..but I guess like everything else, there has to be some sort of consistency. I figure, I’m a runner and runners have to have consistency, right?
Well, it’s a cold, cold day here in snowy PA..kids home from school and a traveling husband. Not too much going on other than your typical stay-at-home mother sort of thing. You go to sleep the night before a big snow is about to arrive, wondering if there will be school in the morning or not, or at the very least a delay. I find that I sleep pretty restlessly on those sort of nights, I don’t exactly know why, I mean it isn’t as like the world is going to come to a colliding halt if they have no school. Well, not the “world” as in outside my door, but, on some levels, my world will.
You see, when your a stay-at-home mom (please, I prefer not to use the word homemaker), or what I like to call myself :”Director of Household Services” OR “Chief Executive Household Officer”; take your pick, I think either one of them would look good on a resume’, don’t you? Anyway, I digress..which by the way, is something I do often..I mean, one topic of conversation always leads to another..wait, what’s that on the wall??!!..has my son smeared something not so nice on the wall again??! Okay-see, my world does comes to a colliding halt on snow days.
Anyway, where was I? As a Chief Executive Household Officer, you run your ship tight, you know how you like things done and you do them in somewhat of an order. You have a routine, you send your kids to school and your routine begins. Kids do not go to school and your routine goes to hell in a handbasket. I am a creature of habit, I thrive on things running smoothly, if said things don’t run smoothly, I tend to have spontaneous bouts’ of hissy fits. So, need I say that I have spend most of my day having spontaneous bouts’ of hissy fits? No, I did not think so.
Three children, two big dogs, two fat cats, no chance to run yet and a snow day..need I say more?
